The Foundation’s Mission A pledge of support 3M to host Toward Zero Deaths Pledge Wall for third consecutive year 3M’s Traffic Safety and Security Division will host the 3M Toward Zero Deaths Pledge Wall for the third consec- utive year at ATSSA’s 48th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo. The Pledge Wall will be on display in the exhibit hall registration area at the ATSSA event, whichwill beheld in theHenryB. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. ATSSAmembers, Foundation supporters, and Convention & Traffic Expo attendees will be able to make donations starting Jan. 2 through the convention to support The Foundation’s many programs includ- ing The Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program, The National Work Zone Memorial, and the Experience Camps Travel Scholarship. “3M Transportation Safety Division is excited to continue to work with The Foundation to help raise money and promote awareness of work zone safety,” said U.S. Marketing Operations Manager for the 3MTransportation Safety Division, Eric Hedman. Additionally, Hedman said the efforts of The Foundation are extremely important to raise roadway safety awareness and to help ensure the family members of those who have been injured or lost their li ves in work zones will not be forgotten. “In its third year now, the 3M Towards Zero Death Pledge Wall program helps generate donations to The Foundation for scholarships to dependents of work- ers, who were killed or permanently disabled in roadwaywork zones,”Hedman said. “3M greatly admires the efforts of The Foundation to aid the dependents of construction workers who paid the ultimate price while building and main- taining our nation’s roads. 3M has been at the forefront of road safety innovation for decades, and we remain committed to initiatives and new technologies to help bring families home safely each day, for years to come.” Last year, at ATSSA’s 47th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo in Phoenix, Arizona, the 3M Pledge Wall generated a little more than $6,000 in donations. 3M agreed to match the donation with $5,000, andprovided an additional $5,000 sponsorship. At the Convention & Traffic Expo’s end, the Pledge Wall generated a total of $16,319. Donors of the 3M Toward Zero Deaths Pledge Wall had the opportunity to write a message, honor a fallen roadway safety worker or write the amount of the pledge on Post-it notes that were placed on the wall at ATSSA’s 47th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo. Last year’s Convention & Traffic Expo host, Forrest Sawyer, spoke with 3M staff members on the exhibit floor.
