Safety Management Council Goes Virtual As is the trend these days, OTA’s Safety Management Council (SMC) has embraced the concept of online gatherings for their monthly meetings. They still take place during the lunch hour once a month. While you’ll have to supply your own food, the good news is that these virtual sessions are free to OTA members ($25/non-members). Visit www.ortrucking.org/events to see what topics are on the agenda for the next few months. If you can’t make a meeting, recordings will be available to view at a later date. OTA Continues Member Update Webinars— Now Once a Month Whether it’s new guidelines and impacts due to the pandemic, or the normal intricacies of operating in the trucking industry, OTA is committed to connecting members with experts who can answer their questions. At the start of pandemic, OTA began a series of member-only webinars with representatives from the governor’s office, OR- OSHA, attorneys, accountants, and others. We are continuing this trend with our monthly member update webinars—registration is FREE! Check OTA’s Event Calendar for more details. OTA Emergency Information Page It seems that we keep getting more reasons to add to OTA’s Emergency Information page. The COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 wildfires. Winter storm Uri.
