GDA Action October 2021

20 • October 2021 Dr. Sidney Tourial GDA Foundation Managing Director As the end of another year approaches, I constantly hear people ask, “Where did all of the time go?” The end of the year brings us the season of joy and thanksgiving. It brings a time when we can reflect on our year, and a time we can think of others. Many of us use this time of year to pay our bills, our taxes, and our dues. Many of us choose this time of year to think of others through various contributions. This past year our GDA Foundation had a good year considering all of the challenges facing the world around us. Our dental practices are beginning to once again flourish and our economy is starting to rebound. Our goal is to make sure that the underserved communities of Georgia have the opportunity to receive and maintain good oral health care. This isn’t MAGIC , it takes a lot of projects and funds to make this happen. As the end of your year approaches, please consider a contribution to our Foundation at this time. Your contribution can propel us forward to an even brighter tomorrow for so many Georgia residents. There are so many ways each of you can give and help our Foundation help others on behalf of dentistry in Georgia. Your generosity can make this MAGIC happen. WhatWill Your Legacy Be? Together We Can Make the MAGIC Happen OUR MISSION The GDA Foundation for Oral Health works to improve Georgia’s oral health through outreach programs that provide comprehensive oral health education and free critical dental care to Georgians in need. Programs include: 3 Give Kids a Smile Day 3 Children’s Dental Health Month 3 Donated Dental Services 3 Georgia Mission of Mercy 3 Special Olympics, Special Smiles program 3 Participation with Emory University RAM event 3 Promote greater service and treatment for patients with special needs 3 Help veterans around Georgia receive dental treatment 3 Community health fairs 3 Healthy Mouth, Healthy Me! PR program “I am so proud that we, in the GDA, have established a giving Foundation whose purpose is to provide funds for oral health care for the less fortunate in our state. Be it by developing a program to provide oral health care in an underserved area, or having funds to meet these needs, it is a gift each one of us can participate in by giving. It can be small or large, but if everyone does something, it will continue to grow.” – Dr. Carol Wolff
