Bronson, a general practice dentist based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is the second vice president of the American Dental Association. Since 1991, Dr. Bronson has been an active member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Cincinnati Dental Association and National Dental Association, as well as the Greater Cincinnati Christian Dental Society since 1999. Dr. Bronson has held a variety of leadership positions within the ADA over the years, currently serving as ADA delegate, and previously serving as chair of the Seventh District Caucus, Reference Committee of Dental Benefits, Dental Practice and Scientific Affairs, Committee of State Public Affairs and Council on Government Affairs. In addition to his ADA leadership positions, Dr. Bronson served in a number of capacities for the Ohio Dental Association and the Cincinnati Dental Society, serving as past president and on many committees. Dr. Bronson is also involved with various other professional dental organizations, including the American College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy and International College of Dentists. He was president of the TI Way Study Club, of which he is still a member, as well as the Ohio Valley Dental Association. Dr. Bronson has been in private practice for 30 years in Cincinnati. He received his dental degree from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he currently holds a faculty position. Kelley Ryals Kelley Ryals, DDS, grew up in Santa Fe, NM. She attended Santa Fe High School, graduated Cum Laude from The University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science and graduated Cum Laude from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2011. She returned home to Santa Fe, NM in 2011 and opened Santa Fe Modern Dentistry and several other dental offices with Pacific Dental Services. Also in 2011, She joined the New Mexico National Guard as a Major where she is currently serving as the State Dental Officer. She recently returned from deployment with the Army for Operation Atlantic Resolve in Poland. Dr. Ryals is married to Marshall and has two young daughters, Rylynn and Raegan. Dr. Ryals was the president of the Santa Fe District Dental society in 2018. She is currently on the Board of Alpha Dental of New Mexico and Quality assurance for Delta Dental. Dr. Ryals is also on the COVID-19 Dental Advisory Team, Board of trustees and on the member service committee in the New Mexico Dental Association In 2016, Dr. Ryals was the Clinic Director for Mission of Mercy in Santa Fe. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, physical fitness and watching football. Dental Radiographs: Seeing is Believing 9a–12p, Thursday 5/18 LOCATION: KIVA AUDITORIUM TYPE: LECTURE CEU: 3 COURSE DESCRIPTION This course aims to increase your knowledge of digital imaging through a review of basic imaging principles and techniques, radiographic interpretation, and prescriptions for radiographs. OBJECTIVES • Describe the purpose and use of digital radiography. • Differentiate between normal anatomy and anomalies/pathologies in radiographs. • Discuss radiation exposure guidelines. Robin Gatlin Robin Gatlin, RDH, MS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at the University of New Mexico where she serves as the Coordinator for Senior Clinic, Radiology, Interprofessional Education and Pharmacy. She has experience in both clinical and educational settings. Gatlin’s research focuses on the growth of dental hygiene, infection control and radiological sciences. Her professional memberships include American Dental Hygienists’ Association and American Dental Education Association. She has held positions within the New Mexico Dental Hygienists’ Association and is also serving as the student advisor.
