OHCA The Oregon Caregiver Fall Winter 2022

The Oregon Caregiver FALL/WINTER 2022 www.ohca.com 28 2022 ANNUAL CONVENTION AND TRADE SHOW 2022 Annual Convention and Trade Show Highlights More than 1,000 long term care professionals as well as sponsors and exhibitors convened at Oregon’s largest long term care event of the year, the OHCA Annual Convention and Trade Show, on September 20–21 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. This is the first time we’ve held a two-day in-person event since 2019. With the theme, “Back to the Future,” we were eager to jump back into the swing of things, with COVID-19 precautions, as we explored innovative ways to work through different challenges and invigorate professionals in the long term care sector. We’re so grateful to our event participants for being flexible and patient throughout the past three years. The two-day event opened with a keynote presentation delivered by Cara Silletto, who spoke about workforce management and how to slow the revolving door, more effectively manage the impending shorter-term workforce, and maximize the time you have with each employee. Attendees participated in a wide variety of breakout sessions on topics relating to clinical skills; diversity, equity, and inclusion; leadership; life enrichment; quality improvement; and more. The event also included a robust trade show where attendees were able to connect with sponsors and vendors to learn about the products and services that will assist in providing high-quality care to residents and keeping buildings running efficiently. At the OHCA Awards ceremony luncheon, individuals were recognized for their commitment to quality care through their dedication to residents, colleagues, and the long term care profession.
