At first, I didn’t believe it! I was surprised. It felt good; I’m happy my hard work eventually paid off and that it didn’t go unrecognized. I went above and beyond and when somebody didn’t get something done, I made sure it did. I just love being a team player. What are you looking forward to the most after the pandemic? I just hope to continue working and helping people out. I’m hoping we get new people who I can help uplift and be there for them, take care of them, and let them know we are family. We’re here to support them. I plan on sticking in here as long as I can support my team. I’m ready for whatever comes. What advice do you have for people who want to start a career in long term care? Come on and join the team! It might look hard going in, but once you get into it, I think you would love it because you have a chance to lift people up. You can make a difference from when the moment you get up in the morning to the end of the day. I have residents who miss me on my days off. They say, “come back and see me before you go” and that make me feel good.
