This is OTA’s war chest to fight against well-funded and fully backed labor, environmental, and other interest groups. WITH MASKS IN PLACE, a small group gathered for OTA’s convention in 2020. This year, we are planning to bring the people—and the fun—back for OTA’s 70th Annual Convention & Exhibition. This is the association’s prime opportunity for both carrier and allied members to gather and discuss the issues at hand, hear from expert speakers, check out the latest offerings from a wide-range of companies and, of course, enjoy some downtime with a round of golf, a TruckPAC fundraiser and dinner, and much more. Battle of the States—Virtual TDC EARLIER THIS YEAR, American Trucking Associations elected to cancel the in-person National Truck Driving Championships for the second time. For 2021, they have launched the National Battle of the States: Virtual Truck Driving Championships. The Battle of the States involves three virtual components: state competitions, prize rounds, and the grand championship. The Battle of the States will commence July 31 with state-level trivia contests. Questions will be based on Facts for Drivers, federal and state laws, and state trucking history and culture. Facts for Drivers is the rulebook that NTDC’s written test contains questions about. The contests contain 40 questions and are slated to take between 45 and 60 minutes.
