32 Oregon Trucking Associations, Inc. Oregon Truck Dispatch Safety Conference, cont. OTA not only handed out safety awards, but it also received one. American Trucking Associations presented OTA with the Summa Cum Laude 2021 Award for conduct of a superior program of safety activity for its members. The conference also gave graduates of OTA’s NW Fleet Safety Certification Program the chance to celebrate the most recent class and recognize the man behind the curriculum, John Sallak. The program launched in 2015 and covers all aspects of creating and maintaining a top-notch fleet safety program. John, who has over 40 years of experience in the trucking and bus industry and was previously OTA’s director of safety and training, was presented with a plaque to mark his contributions to the NW Fleet Safety Certification Program and his many safety achievements in the trucking industry.
