This was “one of his final wishes,” Keith said of Marty. Marty’s generous donation inspired The ATSS Foundation’s Planned Giving program. The ATSS Foundation President Dave Krahulec expressed his gratitude for his contribution. “Marty’s charitable endowment in his estate toTheATSS Foundationwill impact generations of workers in the roadway safety infrastructure industry—and their families,” Krahulec said. “Bymaking provisions in wills or bequests, designat- ing a percentage of retirement assets, and inclusion in life insurance policies to The ATSS Foundation in estate plans, individuals help strengthen the viability of our core purpose.” Through planned giving, loved ones of fallen or permanently disabled roadway workers are provided scholarships to achieve their academic dreams. Commu- nities across thenationgather around the National Work Zone Memorial to honor fallen roadway workers. And, children can work through the grief of losing a loved one in a work zone through Expe- rience Camps travel scholarships. A father’s legacy “To know that I’m carrying on what he wanted and trying to fulfill the promises that hewanted fulfilled, it’s rewarding for a son to be able to do that. It’s reward- ing knowing that I’ve fulfilled my dad’s legacy,” Keith reflected. Marty is among individuals in The ATSS Foundation Legacy Circle who have included the nonprofit organization in their estate plans. Krahulec is also a member of the circle. “Marty has left a legacy in the road- way safety infrastructure industry. I’m honored to be a part of a group of indi- viduals who have given generously—as Marty has,” Krahulec said. Keith and Ana expressed gratitude to The ATSS Foundation for its recognition of their father. “I think that’s incredible. I knowhe would have been very proud to be a part of that,” Ana said. Keith added, “It’s always good know- ing that my dad’s name is going to be reflected in a good light.
