The Signal | September/October 2019 43 Chapter News The Kentucky ATSSA Chapter had 16members in attendance and several public agencies present. The meeting was held concurrently with the Women of Asphalt Luncheon and the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky. Themeeting included recaps of member experiences with events and scholarships. Danny McCreary of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) was appreciative of his participation in ATSSA’s Annual TheNevada ATSSA Chaptermet at the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) in Las Vegas on June 20. Angela Parsons of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) provided an update on road transfers in southern Nevada. Operation andmaintenance, permitting, and enforcement became effec- tive in Clark County on January 1 and the City of Las Vegas on Kentucky Chapter Convention & Expo and impressed with ATSSA’s Circle of Inno- vation. Shaw Evans participated in ATSSA’s interactive three- day Leadership Programand Legislative Briefing & Fly-In. ATSS Foundation Scholarship Recipient Marcie Walker delivered a moving speech about her father and how the scholarship has helped her. Nevada Chapter July 1. The chapter requested a meeting with Clark County to discuss ATSSAmembers’ concerns regarding plan review and escrow accounts. Jonathan Coon, who works for Clark County, said they are planning to release updated traffic control plan standards and guidelines. During Kentucky’s June chapter meeting, ATSS Foundation Scholarship recipient Marcie Walker gave a moving speech about her father and how The Foundation schol- arship has helped her. Nevada ATSSA Chapter members met to discuss road transfer within the state in addition to upcoming ATSSA and ATSS Foundation events.
