The Signal | July/August 2020 25 Events United for Infrastructure event now slated for September Campaign encourages bi-partisan support of roadway safety funding ATSSA will join hundreds of organi- zations across the country in support of “United for Infrastructure 2020: AWeek to Champion America’s Infrastructure,” scheduled for Sept. 14–21. The annual event’s goal is to raise atten- tion to the needs of our nation’s crum- bling infrastructure and to encourage federal funding. This year’s theme is “United for Infrastructure” and is an issue that received increased attention in the wake of the global pandemic to put people to work and solve a pressing national need. The aim has been to send a unified message to Congress advocating for long-termsolvency in the Highway Trust Fund, reauthorizing highway funding, and putting Americans to work manu- facturing, installing, and maintaining lifesaving roadway safety infrastruc- ture devices.
