TheFoundationaddeda thirdevent at this year’sConvention,a2-milefunrunthatwas opentorunnersandwalkersandheldprior to theOpeningGeneral Session. About 30 people tookpart in the inaugural FunRun, despite a drizzling rain. The Convention events are the primary fundraisers for The Foundationeachyear. Lori Diaz, associate director of The Foun - dation, said she is already planning for all three events for the 51st Annual Conven - tion & Traffic Expo in San Diego. She did not havedetails yet onwhether therewill be any changes to the Fun Run, but said it’s scheduled for inclusion in 2021. She added that people should keep an eye out for when registration opens for the golf and sporting clays because both events routinely sell out. This year, 144 people took part in the Foundation Golf Classic Tournament and 131 took part in the Sporting Clays Event. FoundationPresident DaveKrahulecwas on hand at this year’s Golf Classic Tourna - ment and Fun Run and said he enjoyed seeing the enthusiasmof participants. “It’salwayswonderfultoseesomanypeople takingpart in theseevents. Theyaregreat fun, agreat opportunity tonetwork anda wonderful way to support the important work of The Foundation,” Krahulec said. “We’rethankfulforthemanycompaniesand ATSSAChapters that pitched in tosponsor theeventsandforthemanyvolunteersthat enabled us to pull everything together. It takes tremendous generosity and team - work tomake thema success.” Golfers warm up ahead of the start of the 29th Annual Golf Classic Tournament in New Orleans on Jan. 24.
