American Traffic Safety Services Association 38 Member Engagement ATSSA’s frequent fliers on a mission for members Member Engagement Team brings scores of experience They’reroutinelyonthego, hop-scotch - ingacross thecountry, navigating toplaces likeFargo, N.D., Okemis,Mich., LakeLanier, Ga., and Freeport, Maine. This spring, they were scheduled for 20 meetings within a six-week span before the coronavirus pandemic changed those plans. ATSSA’s Member Engagement Team is always on a mission and that is to help the Association’s 28 chapters as their members carry out their daily duties of working tomakeour roadways safer. They pitch inwithmeetings, helpproblem-solve, and assist in developing relationships between public agencies and roadway infrastructure companies. Together ATSSA’s teambringsmore than 135 years of experiencewith associations in addition to the dedication of aMarine, the flair of an actor, and the spunk of a Southerner. If you need to know a bit about parachuting, toxicology, physical therapy, or the definition of otolaryngol - ogy, they’ve got you covered. Twomembers are relative newcomers to ATSSA’sMemberEngagementDepartment. Director Pamala Bouchard arrived in November after successful stints with fourother associations. AssociateDirector Michael Nercesian followed one month later, having worked with Bouchard the past several years of his 15-year associ - ation career. Nercesian serves as Chapter Liaison for the Chesapeake, Gulf Coast, Northwest, Indiana, Michigan, and Utah chapters when he’s not on stage. Associate Director Rita Rose, the para - chute expert, is back into the skies as well as on the roads as she interacts with the Virginia, Florida, Georgia, and Caro - linas chapters.
