Meetings & Conventions Convention & Traffic Expo goes fully virtual 2021 event will take place over two weeks in February ATSSA’s 51st Annual Convention & Traffic Expo will include a full slate of education sessions, industry awards, products and services showcases, and the ever-popular Circle of Innovation when it convenes in February. Inaddition, ATSSA isplanningnewfeatures to add to the fun and enhance opportuni- ties to connect with industry colleagues across the miles. “It’s vital to stay connected aswe continue the critical work of advancing roadway safety. Our team is planning an industry- leading virtual event that will be timely, engaging, and highlight the latest prod- ucts, services, trends, and education during the 51st Annual Convention & Traffic Expo,” ATSSA President & CEO Stacy Tetschner said. “Our work is essen- tial and the value of this type of collabo- ration cannot be overstated as we work Toward Zero Deaths.” The ATSS Foundation events tradition- ally held in conjunctionwith Convention will instead be held later or postponed to 2022 in Tampa. However, people will still have opportunities to support The Foundation through some new options over the next several months. The Fun Run, which was added this year in New Orleans, is shifting to a virtual 5K in 2021. The 30th anniversary of The ATSS Foun - dation Golf Classic will wait until 2022. The 9th Annual Sporting Clays Event group event won’t be held as part of the Convention in 2021 but The ATSS Foundation is considering other options. Watch for updates at Expo.ATSSA.com/ The-Foundation. The 51st Annual Convention & Traffic Expo was originally scheduled for San Diego and then as a hybrid of in-person and online participation. Registration is now open for the 2021 event, whichwill be held over twoweeks in February and run from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ESTmost days. The general schedule is as follows: • Feb. 8–12: Committee and Council Meetings, Education Sessions, Networking Opportunities • Feb. 16–18: General Sessions, Traffic Expo, Additional Education Sessions and Networking Opportunities, Industry Awards, Chapter Meetups, New Products Rollout, Circle of Innovation, and Innovation Awards The 2021 Convention will offer more opportunities to learn from industry experts than ever. In addition to a long list of education sessions and a variety of shorter micro sessions, ATSSA has developed a summit on roadway worker protection, an open forumonworkforce development issues, andmultiple “chat sessions” on the Notice of Proposed Amendments for theManual onUniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). For 50 years, ATSSA has hosted the larg - est gathering of roadway safety profes- sionals in North America with nearly 3,700 registered for its golden anniver - sary celebration in New Orleans. “We could easily exceed that number in 2021 when everyone can take part from their home or office.
