The Signal | November/December 2020 7 ATSSA News New hires and promotions Stubits and Hatcher join team; Morris promoted ATSSA welcomes two new leaders to the team and announces the promotion of another. Cynthia Stubits joined ATSSA as direc- tor of Meetings & Convention in Septem - ber. She brings two decades of global meetings and events experience to her new role, having served in both corpo- rate and association meeting planning. She also has experience with numerous U.S. government agencies and began her career at the Association of the U.S. Army where she learned the No. 1 rule of meeting planning is, “Never let them see you sweat,” amotto she has applied throughout her career. Stubits isaCertifiedMeetingsProfessional (CMP) and member of the Professional Convention Management Association, whose experience ranges from meet- ings for 20 people to 20,000 and spans the globe, including stops inRwanda and Hong Kong. Winona Hatcher joined ATSSA in late August as its training development manager and ispassionateaboutworking with people, technology, teaching, and training. She has taught in all delivery formats—in person, online, and hybrid —over her 2 ½ decades in the instruc- tional field. She is pursuing a doctorate in CurriculumStudies with an Emphasis on Instructional Technology at Georgia SouthernUniversity, andholds amaster’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Computer Educa- tion from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Certificate in Higher Education Leadership from the Univer- sity of South Carolina, Columbia. She also is a CertifiedQualityMattersMaster Reviewer who uses quality rubrics and standards to review and design accessi- ble courses for online, face-to-face, and blended courses. CliffordMorris joinedATSSA’s Customer Success Team in February and in Septem- ber was promoted to Customer Success Manager after four months in the role of actingmanager. Morris has spent the past two decades in customer service and related fields, all in Virginia.
