2 www.nmdental.org President’s Message Dear Colleagues, I want to sincerely thank you for your loyal support of your New Mexico Dental Association. Each of you mean so much to our collective group. Our association exists to empower you. We are here as your champions to support your career and your practice in its success. We are constantly looking for ways to help you in the clinical and non-clinical challenges you face. Membership benefits like continuing education, member services and discounts, help with running your business, and peer review can be a tremendous value. Our shared vision is an empowered dental profession that achieves optimum health for all New Mexicans . Many of our citizens, as you know, face barriers to dental care that are often difficult to overcome. New Mexico’s dentists may not have all the answers, but we do know a great deal about how disease impacts people’s lives and what it takes to deliver cost-effective care. The NMDA will continue to promote our vital and wonderful profession to the public, to legislators and to other policy makers and advocate on your behalf on vital areas of concern, such as ending interference in the doctor-patient relationship, which is a significant barrier to care. The NewMexico DentalAssociation is the leader for oral health care in our state. It is uniquely positioned to support dentists in achieving our shared mission and addressing barriers to care. The success of the NMDA, the health of New Mexicans, and our dental practices are linked together in many respects. That is why your membership matters greatly . It is only with a collective voice that we can make a truly remarkable future happen for all. I think in an alternate universe without the NMDA, we would be shocked at where our profession and dental care would be. We are surrounded by an array of dangerous forces that would diminish our profession in short order. This directory is about our dental community. It is about colleagues we know and others that we haven’t yet met. It includes dentists that practice in different locations throughout NewMexico and in varying practice models. The NMDA strives to support each and every one. I have been so proud of the people and culture of this organization and its work. We have many selfless, talented, and passionate leaders in dentistry in our state. I am humbled to be in this position for a year and to steward all the hard work and talent of those in the NMDA.
