OTA Dispatch Issue 4, 2020

EVENTS 12 Oregon Trucking Associations, Inc. Oregon Truck Dispatch 2020 OTA Annual Convention & Exhibition RIVERHOUSE | BEND, OR | NOVEMBER 9–10, 2020 OTA’S SLIGHTLY POSTPONED Annual Convention was also a bit different this year with a cap of 90 attendees at our new venue in Bend, but we still got a chance to learn, network, and have fun. Monday’s sessions were focused on the new ODOT, new tax rules, the economy, top industry issues, and alternative fuel technology. That evening after the allied partner reception, Truck PAC Leadership Circle members gathered for the exclusive Truck PAC dinner where Representative Shelly Boshart Davis, Legislator for Oregon House District 15 and Co-Owner of Boshart Trucking provided some insight into the upcoming legislative session. The Board of Directors met early Tuesday morning and then everyone headed to for general sessions on the election results, leading through a crisis, Oregon’s environmental policy, and OTA’s annual meeting. View the list of newly elected board members on page 3. There were plenty of opportunities throughout the event to visit with allied members in the exhibition hall and view Freightliner Northwest’s beautiful truck parked outside the venue. Attendees were able to virtually connect with one another using the event app, which served as a useful tool considering all the social distance and other virus-prevention protocols. During the Awards Banquet that evening, Magician and Comedian, Mark Robinson, entertained guests. OTA also announced four 2020 OTA Award winners in each of the categories below. Congratulations to all!
