26 Oregon Trucking Associations, Inc. Oregon Truck Dispatch MEMBER NEWS Jubitz Celebrates Truck Drivers On September 23, Jubitz Truck Stop and Travel Center recognized the efforts of America’s hardworking truck drivers with their annual Driver Appreciation Day event. To protect everyone’s health and safety, this year’s event was an outdoor boxed lunch giveaway. Truck drivers received swag bags full of prizes and had the opportunity to win big gift cards through an online giveaway. 170 truck drivers attended, and 80 more were surprised with lunches and prizes when stopping by to fuel up later in the day. Joel Olson Trucking’s “Care Kits” By Lana Dixon, HR and Safety Manager About a month after the pandemic hit, we understood that this wasn’t going away anytime soon. We listened to our drivers and found out just what they were experiencing out on the road. They told us they were not finding food, bathrooms, shower facilities and the list goes on… We decided we had to help! We put together a “care kit” loaded with food (mostly protein filled), a water bottle with filtration, sweaters, hats, gloves, masks, lunch pail, eating utensils, and a couple other goodies to show our appreciation. We also had enough to load them back up with foods if they needed to stock up again. Our drivers were really surprised and appreciated Joel Olson Trucking was thinking about them and cared for their well-being.
