Thursday, June 7 h day, une 1  Workshops  Lectures Joe Griego Joe was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and is a native of the north valley. At 27 years old, he is a proud father of two and donates his time as a Little League and Special Olympics coach. Joe is a service-connected US Navy Veteran with over eight years of public service under his belt as a previous Albuquerque area fire fighter/EMT and police officer. Joe has experience in running EMS calls in the rural and metro areas and has advanced training in trauma, extrication, and critical incident management. His training as a police officer has afforded him experience in drug interdiction, domestic violence prevention, and advanced roadside impairment. PRESENTATION CPR: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Hands-on Portion: 1–4pm, Thursday 6/17 and Friday 6/18 LOCATION: HALL 2 TYPE: WORKSHOP CEU: 3 COURSE DESCRIPTION CPR: This course will be taught online on-demand—in-person practical instruction will be by appointment during the meeting. The BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventila- tions, and provide early use of an AED. In the instruction-led course, students participate in simulated scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Robert Hochberg Dr. Rob Hochberg was raised on the east coast and grew up outside of Philadelphia. After dental school, Dr. Rob and his wife, Monica, decided to have their wedding in Santa Fe, where they were married in June of 2018. Over the course of a few visits out west, they fell in love with Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico and started pursuing making it their home. Dr. Rob attended NYU College of Dentistry in New York City, where he gradu- ated in the top 10% of his class. He stayed on at NYU for two years following dental school, for residency in Endodontics, where he served as chief resident both years. Dr. Hochberg worked on bringing several scientific research papers to publication while in school. Following graduation from residency, he worked for three years in the Philadelphia area in private practice. Dr. Rob took over Endodontic Associates of Albuquerque in the beginning of 2019, with great help from mentor and friend, Dr. Robert Chavez. Dr. Rob and his wife enjoy all aspects of outdoor life, and love to bring their pup Benson along with them exploring their new home. Monica and Rob love riding their bikes, fishing, hiking, and travelling. They feel truly happy to be part of such a wonderful community, and plan on staying involved with community outreach and volunteer work both with dentistry, and with animals, for life. OBJECTIVES • Diagnose endodontic disease, and deliver successful, long-lasting endodontic therapy • Review the Waveone technique and latest equipment from Dentsply Sirona • Treatment planning discussion and effective case selection KimObiedo Kimberly is a native New Mexican. She was raised in Gallup and graduated from Gallup High School. Kim’s career in den- tistry started as a dental assistant. She then decided to fur- ther her education and was accepted into the dental hygiene program at the University of New Mexico. In 2002, Kim graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Dental Hygiene, relocated to Farmington, New Mexico where she continues to work as a clinical dental hygienist to this day. In 2016, Kim was hired as an adjunct instructor at San Juan College Dental Hygiene Program where she teaches both clinical and didactic courses. Kim is currently the lead instructor for Dental Radiology. Kim is an experienced dental hygienist who is dedicated to her patients, her students, and to the dental health care profession. Kim and her husband,Thomas, currently live in Farmington, have 2 children and 4 dogs. Kim loves baseball and boating at the lake, but most of all, spending timewith her family. PRESENTATION Dental Radiology 9–11:45am, Thursday 6/17 LOCATION: GALISTEO/AZTEC TYPE: LECTURE CEU: 3 COURSE DESCRIPTION This course provides an overview of the essential principles and procedures of dental radiology. We will review prescription standards and techniques for exposing diagnostic radiographs to assist in a thorough dental examination. Guidelines for optimal patient and clinician safety will be discussed. Other top- ics will include, characteristics and evaluation of radiographs, quality assur- ance, and recognizing and correcting common errors. OBJECTIVES • Understanding of radiation safety • Review ADA/FDA guidelines and recommendations for dental radiographic examinations • Identify criteria for diagnostic PA’s and BWX • Examine current, in office, radiology procedures and assess the need to implement changes
