NMDA Fiesta Registration Kit 2021

5 June 17–19, 2021 2021 Fiesta NMDA Register online at www.nmdental.org Frequently Asked Questions, Cont. A COVID-Safe Fiesta Although we hope vaccinations and a reduction of cases will allow us to meet in person this year, the New Mexico Dental Association will abide by all public health orders. In the state’s “Red-to-Green” scheme, Bernalillo County must be in the Turquoise category at the time of the meeting to allow us to have in-person classes. Since this is largely dependent upon community conditions preceding the meeting, moving the meeting to a venue in a Turquoise designated county or holding the entire meeting virtually online, is possible. The following protocols will be observed when meeting in-person: • Fiesta attendees must attest to: » Having no symptoms in the 24-hours prior to the meeting, » Having not tested positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the meeting, and » Having no contact with anyone who has tested positive in the 10 days prior to the meeting. • Temperatures may be taken to identify potential carriers without other symptoms. • Those who have not been fully vaccinated are encouraged to attend the meeting online. • Proper fitting high-filtration masks are preferred and must be worn to cover both nose and mouth. Masks will be required at all times while in the Convention Center, by law. • Do not move chairs. They have been arranged to allow appropriate social distancing while seated. • Wash hands or use hand sanitizer often. • Avoid touching your face or mask. • Visit socially outside when possible. • Course evaluation and credit forms will be distributed electronically to reduce contact. • Attendance at each class will be limited to the number allowed by the public health order. “Overflow” viewing will be possible on personal computing devices in a designated location. • Pay attention to seat location in case contact tracing is required. Please be aware that “breakthrough” cases of COVID occur even in those who have been vaccinated. We observe these restrictions to protect others, reduce spread, and prevent the proliferation of vaccine-resistant variants, particularly for those who have not been vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation. Will there be exhibitors at the hybrid Fiesta NMDA? Yes. Exhibitors will be present in the exhibit area and will have booths online where they can chat or video conference. They will be able to demonstrate products and take orders. We hope you will make a point to visit their booths and thank them for supporting Fiesta NMDA. Why is the schedule different than usual? The classes scheduled for Saturday morning will only be held online. We feel that this will allow more people to attend and require less time, particularly for travel, from your weekend. We will appreciate your feedback on this change as we plan for the future. Will I have to follow COVID-safe practices at the live event? Yes. Bernalillo County will be under public health order restrictions that limit class sizes and require masking and social distancing. Your cooperation will allow us to have a safe meeting, even for those that have not yet received a vaccine. We encourage you to meet friends and network on the patio outside the south entrance of the building. We have cancelled all indoor events with food so that masking can be maintained. Your continued efforts to keep the pandemic in check will allow us to meet safely again next year without such restrictions.
