• The NYS Education Department shared with NYSDA proposed amendments to the education law relating to the practice of dentistry. • Governor Hochul´s proposed state budget for 2022-2023 includes funding for a transfer of oversight of many of New York´s health care professions (including dentistry) away from the Education Department and to the Department of Health. This will be resolved in the coming months. NYSDAMedicaid Sub-Committee — Dr. Steven Backer: • Minutes were previously emailed SDDS REPORTS: Greater NewYork Dental Meeting—Dr. Richard Oshrain: • The first live meeting of the GNYDMOrganization Committee was held on Thursday February 10. • The grid for this year´s meeting is almost complete. • We are addressing the items that have been brought up by the Transition Committee. • There will be a celebrity speaker this year. • We are hoping to have the digital program guide online in mid-July. Adhoc Committee on LLCTransition—Drs. Flagiello, Quartey and Mr. Hackett: • The committee reviewed the rules and delineated a number of actions that need to be taken. They include lease change to the LLC, insurance documents and bank accounts under the LLC, a timely budget and biweekly payroll. Richmond County Dental Society — Dr. Joseph Merola: • The RCDS Installation of Officers is scheduled for April 30. Loan Forgiveness Program—Dr. Craig Ratner • We are well into our sixth application season. • To date 25 applications have been started, five are complete. • We hope to present recommendations to the Board in May.
