OTA Dispatch Issue 1, 2019

10 Oregon Trucking Associations, Inc. Oregon Truck Dispatch EVENTS Southern Oregon Trucking Industry Mixer SEVEN FEATHERS RESORT | CANYONVILLE, OR | JANUARY 24, 2019 “BEING YOUR BEST WHEN IT MATTERS THE MOST” was the theme at the trucking industry’s largest networking event in Southern Oregon this year. OTA, with the help of Andy Owens with A&M Transport, invited professional speaker and author of “The Hero Effect” Kevin Brown, to speak to our group of over 150 trucking industry members. Kevin kept our members engaged during his inspiring stories of people who choose to be everyday heroes to everyone around them and how the same attitude could be applied to employees and coworkers. OTA President & CEO Jana Jarvis provided a government affairs update and Mike Card with Combined Transport spoke on the importance of supporting the Oregon Truck PAC. Andy also announced the 2015 Freightliner Cascadia truck donation by Daimler to Umpqua Community College Truck Driving School. Thanks to Mark Christie with Freightliner NW for his help in coordinating the donation. For many of our busy trucking industry folks, the mixer is a way for old friends to reconnect and even build new contacts in the region. Members of the American Trucking Association also received some extra time before the event to mingle. We hope to see you again next January! Thank you to Andy for his assistance with the event and to the event sponsors.
