Summer 2019 • PENNSYLVANIA RESTAURANT & LODGING matters •  27 Lehigh Valley Chapter Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group—Red Robin was the main sponsor of the 15th Annual Justin Sheftel Memorial Softball Tournament & Mocktail Mix-Off Event. Four Red Robin mixologists competed to create the best Mocktail. The Mocktail event supports the message of “Do Not Drink & Drive” as Justin Sheftel, a high school graduating senior, was killed by a drunk driver. The winning mixologist was Colleen Nevells from the Quakertown Red Robin for her Chocolate Cherry Fizz. Northeastern Chapter Settlers Hospitality presented Victims’ Intervention Program of Wayne and Pike Counties (VIP) with a check for $2,500. The money was raised during the Annual Chili and Wing Cook-Off at The Waterfront at Silver Birches Resort. The event attracted 20 chefs from area restaurants, schools, and organizations for a culinary showdown. Approximately 600 people attended the event. Cheers! Northwestern Chapter The PBS series Beyond Your Backyard won two EMMY awards, one for Best Show and the other for Best Host. The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau was featured in season 1, episode 4. Philadelphia Chapter Coffee on the go! Ellis Coffee’s Cold Brew trike has shown up in some great locations recently including the state’s Capitol, Lancaster, Allentown, and Myerstown. The trike dispenses smooth, creamy nitro Cold Brew and refreshing still Cold Brew. Southern Chapter The York County Convention & Visitors Bureau announced this spring that they are now doing business as Explore York . The organization will be launching a new website, domain, and brand this fall to further reflect its scope and purpose to promote the York area as a destination for tourists, meeting planners, groups, and sport organizers.
